Did anyone else hear Gen Dempsey's interview on NPR yesterday afternoon? He said that they had to bring women into combat, as only one in four young males in our nation were eligible for enlistment due to the national dropout rate and the increased number of legal problems experienced in the young male demographic. Therefore, they had to allow women to enter previously restricted combat fields in order to meet the military requirements. He stated that the physical standards for these fields needed to be "dusted off" and re-examined, as it might be possible that intellectual and other personal attributes might be more important.
No mention at all of perhaps letting some of these guys with minor legal histories join, as they did a few years back. If they think they had more problems with them, can you imagine the problems they are going to have with morale, injury, harassment and rape they are going to experience with women on the front lines bearing a significant brunt of the fighting?
What a bunch of BS. Crank up the draft.
I didn’t hear this interview, because I try to avoid National Propaganda Radio whenever possible. However, if he really said that, then what a bunch of B.S. The question of women in combat is a completely different question from women in the combat arms (infantry, etc.). Also, the military is not having any problems meeting its recruiting goals thanks to the ObamaNonEconomy. Plus, Dempsey’s boss is working hard to downsize the military - especially the army and marines.

If this were true, the Army could just convert some of the males from service support branches to combat branches.
Once we have nothing but females in all the service branches, I’ll start to believe him.

In 1940 the population of the US was a little over 130 million.
At the peak, we had over 12 million people in uniform - nearly 10% of the population of the entire country.
We never had to put women into combat.
Now we’re trying to maintain a military establishment less than 1% of the country - less than one-tenth of the max effort of the 1940s.
And we have to put women into combat?
Utterly preposterous.

BOWMAN: A very practical matter, because less than one in four young people - male and female - can actually meet the standards for military enlistment today. Men tend to disqualify themselves more than women. Young men account for three-quarters of all arrests. And in all 50 states, males have a higher high school drop out rate than females.'
Females, lesbians, emasculated and gay males are being placed into all positions of authority. This is how you suppress internal revolt against the government.
A lot of Judges sent kids who had little brushes with the law into the Marines to straighten them out.
Worked like a charm.

I call total BS. There are still plenty of administrative and support roles being performed by male service members who could be changed to combat MOSs if they really wanted to. Dempsey is a kissass.

I think he's referring to a recent study by the "Mission: Readiness" group but neglected to point out that one "big" reason is that they are too fat (27%), and "Nearly 32 percent have other disqualifying health problems, including asthma, eyesight or hearing problems, mental health issues, or recent treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder." That's 27% + 32% + 25% (eligible)= 84%. That leaves 16% who are dropouts/have arrest records. Which is probably the same 16% "problem children" for all the other problems with youth today.
If there is a problem with the US military recruiting eligible males, it probably has more to do with the Obama administration's obvious disdain for the military.

Then you’d discover you have plenty of talent to do the job!
All females between the ages of 18-60 should be required to register with the Selective Service. Why should males be singled out for this? Fair is fair and we are going to keep getting this nonsense until ALL females have some skin in the game. Now, 98% of the females yawn about women in the Infantry because they don’t have to worry about it. Make them worry about it, and this talk about females in the Infantry will go away.
Together with abortion, same sex marriage, anti-gun laws and now women in combat — it’s all part of the culture of death.
You ask what anti-gun laws have to do with the C of D? Take away all guns from law-abiding citizens and watch the killing rate skyrocket.
And let’s draft women while we’re at it. Hold them to the same standards as men, make them hump heavy rucks for umpteen miles, assign women to carry the mortar base plates in weapons companies, the whole deal.
Might as well get this silliness over and done with as quickly as possible.
As soon as “womyn” get a taste of real physical exertion, they’ll STFU and dispense with this idiotic blather.

Oh, and if they try to get pregnant to get out of serving their term? Give them a choice: less-than-honorable discharge or get an abortion. The lefties love abortion, so again, give the womyn what they claim they want - good and hard.

He has been caught lying and performing political war drama for Obama’s agenda before, too. He was in on the you-tube video lies during the embassy fiasco in Bengazi. He’s also called for Shiara speech controls on the United States. He’s the tool who called and harassed the minister Jones who burned the Koran in protest of Queen Bloomer’s victory mosque at ground zero. He should be removed from power.
This is all lying drama to serve the Left’s agenda.
