I am in support of killing the first three. As long as the strategic national defense components of DoE are preserved, I support cutting back the non-defense components.

Dang. It's worth a shot. If he picks a conservative natural born citizen for a running mate, I'll help give him the chance. I'm certain he can't be worse than what we already have, and just as certain he'll do better than what Karl Rove and the GOPe have in store for us.

Oh, but wait: These stupid libertarians are worthless! Only the TRUE conservatives deserve support!
Because, you know, look at all those spending cuts fostered by TRUE CONSERVATIVES.
(crickets)
Yes, all THOSE spending cuts! Like Medicare Part D! And a DOD budget of over $600B! On ships made out of steel and aluminum welded together!
In case anyone missed it, this is me being sarcastic.

Excellent. Governmental agencies long ago struck a Faustian bargain, I’m sure, to do the bidding of statists, and their incremental victories over liberty often unrecognized until it’s too late. The only way to arrest them now is to lop their serpentine heads off.

Agree with the basic approach, but would spare the Department of Commerce--as the protection of Interstate Commerce is a Federal function. (There is no granted Federal function for the other Departments, and the history of their activities has been one of getting in the way of the free market & local communities' ability to address real problems, which were deliberately left to their control.

So Rand Paul thinks it would be a good idea to eliminate;
The Department of Commerce which actually has impeded commerce. The Department of Education which has never educated one child The Department of Housing which has done everything in it's power to destroy the housing market. The Department of Energy which has never created one erg of energy. Sounds good to me.

Rand's budget has the right priorities from what I see.
It replenishes $126 billion to the Defense Department stripped in sequestration and puts an annual cap on foreign aid at $5 billion. The plan also repeals ObamaCare and Dodd Frank.
Excellent, the Defense Department is the one thing the federal government really should be devoting significant resources towards.
Pauls budget kills four government agencies: the departments of Commerce, Education, Housing and Urban Development, and Energy. It also privatizes the Transportation Security Administration.
Wonderful!
To: SeekAndFind
I wonder if Paul’s planned tax revenue includes the costs of future wars, nation building or domestic recessions.
