I had the distinct honor of being on several DC freeps with the good Doctor. What a personality, what positive energy, what wit.....and what a patriot.

I know he's sitting at the right hand of God right now, regaling Him with freeper stories....but definitely not in his devil's costume!

The memory grows dim sometimes, but I remember him from the Marches, the freeps in front of the White House, freeping outside the DC Correspondents Banquet....and, of course, the Inaugural Ball. He was a driving force in every freep.

RIP, Doc, from a very sad fellow member of the great Class of '98.

Leni

In case you’re around these parts, you’d want to know.

Well said, Leni...I first met him at the March for Justice..(and BTW..what happened to Mr. Cigarman?) The good Doctor and I, we Freepmailed often, and he will be missed. Prayers for his family and friends..

AND NOW I AM GOING TO INDULGE IN A MODEST RANT

I'm both saddened, and mad, at the news. Sad, obviously, because a really good guy has left us far too soon, and mad, yes, MAD, MAD because I hadn't realized that he hadn't been posting for some time. I SHOULD have noticed, but that's because FR has changed so much these last years..and not all of it for the best, and instead, we focus on all the crapola around here....

How many really good people have dropped off, dropped out..either because of all the purges, or the endless, mind-numbing threads about Mormonism.. the mean, angry, sanctimonious tone that now so often infects this place..and the many months when FR was slow as molasses..if it worked at all.. but ask anyone who was around way back then...especially, like the good doctor, and myself..members of the GREAT class of 1998..and they'll all tell you..it's not the same..

Maybe change is inevitable..even if it sometimes sucks. Me, I just choose to ignore most of the bad, and just enjoy what is still good about this place, and some that still remain..

And I still miss Howlin...

Pardon the rant....
