Doctor Raoul died Saturday of a rare form of cancer. He was 58.
Raoul's family contacted us this morning to see if they could find out more about his activities as an activist.
This is such a shock. His family is looking for photos and stories about him.
He is and always will be a Free Republic icon.
He kind of fell off the face of the earth about 2 or 3 years ago now. All attempts we made to reach him failed.
If you have photos please contact me. Please feel free to post stories and I will make sure the family sees this thread.

I’m thinking of digging thru all the Hi-8 tapes I have. If i can get my (old) camcorder working, I’ll do it. I know I have some real doozies of FReeps we all did together.

We did so much in those years, didn’t we — and Raoul was always part of it. He really was a unique person. So nice to see old Freepers who have gone their own way again, and in a way Doctor Raoul has brought many of us together again.

Mere words can never capture the spirit and essence of our friend and fellow patriot, Dr. Raoul Deming. He has been and will continue to be missed by all of us so lucky to have known him.
Rest in peace Doc. May your family take comfort in knowing your deeds and knowing how many were touched by your wit, generosity of spirit and caring. Dr. Raoul, you were truly “one-of-a-kind.”

Thanks for your post #388 and the ping back to this thread. Thanks to every poster. Anyone reading this thread can see that Doctor Raoul is one of the greatest FReepers in the history of the republic...a model for FReepers and activists. What an inspiration! What a tribute!

He certainly did make Freeping fun! I recall him Freeping with the DC Chapter at the WH on Halloween. He asked me to dress like senate candidate Hillary as the NY Witch in black robe & hat, with a Yankees’ pendant, carpetbag and sign: ‘Scrape the Bottom, Vote for Rodham.’
Doctor Raoul in his Red Devil suit held a sign that pointed an arrow at me and said: ‘My sister married Bill Clinton’. Many tourists exiting the WH tour had a good laugh and took photos of us!
