SYRACUSE, N.Y. At most workplaces, Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day comes once a year.
But at the law department in Syracuse City Hall, every day is Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. The emphasis is on daughters.
Of the seven city lawyers hired since Mayor Stephanie Miner took office in January 2010, all but one are daughters of city employees or prominent Democratic politicians with ties to Miner.
In addition to those full-time lawyers, the city corporation counsel this month hired Meghan Ryan, the 26-year-old daughter of Miners chief of staff, Bill Ryan, to work as a part-time law clerk for $8 an hour.
And when Miner needed specialized outside legal help, she hired Terry Mannion, her husbands son from a previous marriage, to represent the city on matters relating to Destiny USA. Mannion has billed the city for $112,612 in fees thus far.

“Destiny USA” is AFAIK a catch-all megaproject trying to turn the city’s vast Carousel Mall into an anything-you-want-it-to-be supercenter (mall, hotels, green energy research, office rentals, vapid whatevers) on the shores of arguably the nation’s most polluted lake.
I hate to say this even if the parents or the kids are the nicest in the world; I wouldn’t want to be forced to be or be around them everyday.
C’mon, you know the rules; that’s only wrong when Republicans do it!
They were called nomenclatura in communist USSR. You had to be a communist party member. Here you have to be a Democrat party member
