Brunswick, Georgia (CNN) -- Two teenagers were arrested Friday in the shooting death of a 13-month-old boy who was in his stroller, according to police in Brunswick, Georgia.
The suspects are a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, Police Chief Tobe Green told reporters Friday. He said they are being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Green identified the older suspect as Demarquis Elkins, saying he will be treated as an adult in criminal proceedings. The 14-year-old was not identified because of his age.
"We are turning every stone to get a motive," said Green. A weapon has not been found.
Police offered a $10,000 reward for information and have received more than 30 leads.
Sherry West earlier told reporters that the incident occurred at 9 a.m. Thursday as she was walking home from the post office, pushing her son Antonio in a stroller. She said she saw two boys.
"A boy approached me and told me he wanted my money, and I told him I didn't have any money," she said. "And he said, 'Give me your money or I'm going to kill you and I'm going to shoot your baby and kill your baby,' and I said, "I don't have any money and don't kill my baby." The boy tried to grab her purse and opened fire when she said tried to tell him she had no money, West said, grazing her head. She said the boy then shot her in the leg.
She continued, "And then, all of a sudden, he walked over and he shot my baby in the face."

While the name “De’Marquis Elkins” makes me 99% sure that at least the older murderer (if not both) is black, I am holding back that final 1% because of this sentence in the CNN article:

I would be so surprised that CNN would describe black teenagers as “a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy” that I figure that they *must* be white. But then again, the 17-year-old being named “De’Marquis” makes it hard to believe that we’re talking about two white kids from Southern Georgia.
So I conclude that the murderers are black, and that those two CNN writers will be fired by Monday for their “offensive” and “insensitive” language.
Hollywood and/or the music industry put this into their heads.
On the serious side. God help this family and our nation.
If these punks had a president, he’d look like Obama.
Have they done a line up? Did the mom verify they were the boys?
And you can bet your bottom dollar the media will NEVER show pictures of these two pricks because they don’t fit into their little agenda..Obama won’t say a word about this, black youths killing a white baby..nope, not a peep

Lets jump ahead to the trial. The kid is not responsible, he didnt know the gun was loaded, the gun went off accidentally, he’s had a tough life, daddy beat him, momma on drugs, etc etc. Get one OJ type juror on there and he goes free.

I am not from Havana, baby...
I’m sure they wouldn’t be charging them if she hadn’t id’d them and if they hadn’t tested the 17 year old’s hands to see if he fired a weapon recently and I’ll bet the 14 year old is singing like a mockingbird.
Or a name like Adam Lanza or James Holmes.
The pressure was on to catch these kids quickly so that the manhunt didn’t wind up on the nightly news.
They should be dragged outside...and beat to death.
I don't care if they were white, black, brown, red...or whatever.
We desperately need help.
This story is the PERFECT example why people need to be able to carry guns..the mainstream media will stay away from this story, and if they do report it it will be a 10 second story..you can bet if it were the other way around and two white youths killed a black baby this would be a national story
