Elm City, N.C. — An Elm City woman shot two men who broke into her home on Tonya Road Friday morning, her husband told WRAL News.
The woman, who had stayed home sick from work, heard a noise around 11 a.m. and then saw two men outside her house. When she heard them start kicking in the back door, she hid in the bedroom closet with a cellphone and a pistol, her husband said.

Even though she did not put them in the ground, I don’t think they were in much condition to attack people. The neighbor said they were screaming “Help, me ....I’m dying...”. She probably had .38 revolver and we don’t know exactly how much practice she had using it. So, I am gonna say she did pretty good all things considered.

Old New Orleans geologist I knew used to read the New Orleans Times-Picayune police blotter religiously .... he always said, if NOPD would ever get halfway smart and just pick up those two and hold them, crime in New Orleans would crash. Them and their cousin Leon.
I’ve noted an interesting pattern in similar perps who have been shot. They immediately seek out passerby for help, and say words to the effect of, “I’ve been shot, I’m dying!”
I suspect there is a psychological meaning to this, but I’ve no idea what.
That being said, passerby rarely offer aid and comfort, for some reason.
Good for her. I would have shot them too.
If her neighbor had shot them with rock salt, that would have been rubbing salt in their wounds.
