The Twitter account @BarackObama tonight retweeted Yoko Ono's picture of John Lennon"s bloody glasses from the day he was murdered.
The arresting photo, which includes text that more than a million people have been killed by guns since Lennon was shot in 1980, has been retweeted more than 11,000 times since it was posted Wednesday.
A retweet by the account associated with President Obama forwarded it to his more than 28 million followers. Retweets aren't always endorsements in Twitter etiquette, but Ono's activism comes at a time when President Obama and Democrats' push for more gun control after the Sandy Hook tragedy seems to be struggling.

I fully expect we'll soon see tweets of the bloody corpses of children from Sandy Hook.
Damn fool.
That ticket to ride expired decades ago.
Narcissistic, self absorbed baby boomers may care about John Lennon but they are in their 60s and 70s, and a substantial fraction of them may not be able to remember who John Lennon was at their age. They don't follow tweets much either.
People in their 50’s may be mildly interested
I don't think many people under the age of 40 could care less about Yoko Ono or John Lennon.
Don't think most people under the age of 30 even know who John Lennon was.
The simple fact is that John Lennon is no longer more popular then God
.
The only reason this *matters* is that it is a blatant attempt to work people into a frenzy to support gun legislation that is being voted on, across the fruited plain.
Yeah, I know.
But I sure had fun writing that.
Never have been a big Lennon fan.
Sigh.
John Lennon wasn’t murdered By a gun. He was murdered With a gun By a person who was batsh!t crazy. Just like the babies and teachers at Sandy Hook. Just like the people at the movie theater. Almost just like Gabby Giffords. Would people feel better if John Lennon had been stabbed?
Granted, guns can make it easier to kill someone but that works both ways. They can also make it easier to protect one’s self. Or at least they can if people are allowed to protect themselves. Guns are the great equalizer. But there can be no equality of force if law abiding people are are prohibited from arming themselves. Then they are at the mercy of those who don’t care about the law.
John Lennon was becoming a conservative towards the end of his life. He’d probably laugh at Barack Obama as president if he’d lived to see it.
>>Never have been a big Lennon fan.<<
Yoko has been a long-suffering, no count, no talent who has nothing of herself to cling to for substance and must survive on Lennon’s coat tails.
I should pity her. But I don’t. I wish she would take back her sculpture from the UN Plaza and make a coffee table out of it.
ROTFLMAO :>)
