My daughter, who's always been an “A” student wasn't doing that well in Social Studies. I looked into it and noticed the teacher was basically a drone that spouted out untruthful information and graded improperly. Her tests weren't even based on what they were covering sometimes! She gave a pop quiz on medieval Europe when they were studying ancient Greece! When I contacted her she outright lied to me and acted like I was stupid and my daughter couldn't understand the material. I went over her head and told the Principal my background, which included about two more degrees in history then this teacher ever had. I asked to be told what all of the material was for the next exam. The topic was Ancient Islam and the Crusades. My daughter did all the reading, got a 100% on the vocabulary quiz, and then we discussed the material and WHY things happened. For instance, they were taught the crusades were the evil European Catholics wanting to kill Muslims. I told her to take out her map, from just before the Crusades started, and with what she read, however skewed, come to her own conclusion why the crusades began. She said “well it looks like the Muslims took the holy lands, Northern Africa, parts of Spain, and were trying to take Europe. That's not what the teacher taught! After the exam the student teacher announced my daughter had gotten the highest grade. My daughter said she was asked the question about the crusades and answered it as we discussed. Others answered it blaming the Crusaders as “invaders” into Muslim territory and they were marked correctly! No! It's not both! But the teacher was afraid to argue the point with me.

It is the rewriting of history and “social studies.”

Your daughter, as well as the rest of the students, are being subjected to a type of conditioning/brainwashing/behavior modification. By having students fail the pop quizzes it damages their psyche and self-esteem. Softens them up, if your will, for the indoctrination to the altered information.

It is a form of child abuse.

“Others answered it blaming the Crusaders as “invaders” into Muslim territory and they were marked correctly! No! It’s not both! But the teacher was afraid to argue the point with me.”

Smart move on their part. They managed to shut you up by giving your kid the grade she deserved, but kept the brainwashing program intact, without otherwise seeing the light of day.

That’s one of the many reasons why my kids NEVER stepped foot in a public school.
