New York Governor Favors Easing Newly Passed Gun Law

By THOMAS KAPLAN and DANNY HAKIM

Excerpt...

The gun-control law, approved in January, banned the sale of magazines that hold more than seven rounds of ammunition. But, Mr. Cuomo said Wednesday, seven-round magazines are not widely manufactured. And, although the new gun law provided an exemption for the use of 10-round magazines at firing ranges and competitions, it did not provide a legal way for gun owners to purchase such magazines.

As a result, he said, he and legislative leaders were negotiating language that would continue to allow the sale of magazines holding up to 10 rounds, but still forbid New Yorkers from loading more than 7 rounds into those magazines.....

Cuomo should be laughed out of New York State. What a pathetic excuse for a governor.

And just how would this be enforced?

I believe that’s what they call “procrustean bed” legislation.

Cheers!

“And just how would this be enforced?”

It does not have to be. Now, mere posession of a magazine is probable cause for a police search to check compliance. Remember how the seat belt laws started out?

Does this mean a “start-up” will begin to manufacture PLUGS the size of 3 cartridges that must be fed into the 10 round magazine to thus limit the number of live rounds?
There is a lot of money to be made with this idea, also many jobs, tax revenues, it sounds wonderful, doesn’t it.
In fact, I’ll start up the company so prospective investors can start sending me their investments.
(Does this sound as dumb as I hope it does?)

Sort of like saying that personal spaceships are not widely manufactured. And you are allowed 10 rd magazines at the gun range, but not at home? This must be an old Soviet law that they just had translated.

What remains in the law:
Registration of so called Assault weapons.
Ban on standard cap mags, no grandfathering.
Background checks for ammo purchases.
No more than 7 rounds loaded per mag.
Some other Carp.
If caught violating any of this you are a felon and punished worse than a child molester.

In a related matter, 7-Eleven will sell very large plastic cups, but cannot fill them with soft drinks.

Oh wait, that moronic law got swatted down by a judge. Maybe this one will too.

If I had to guess, I’d say that the Cuomo and Bloomberg families have been inbreeding for a long time. What morons.

Hmm. Dunno. However, a 'round' can be defined (by quisling dunderhead Lib lawyers) as that which expels a single projectile by cycling the action of a firearm once. Thereby making such a 'plug' a 3 'round' affair.

And you know....if such a 'plug' idea caught on, that's exactly how our Government Overlords would define it.
