Four men shot dead their sister and her husband for bringing shame to the family.
A Yemeni woman, in her twenties, paid a heavy price for eloping from her familys house and marrying her beloved. Police in the southern port city of Aden said on Tuesday that four men shot dead their sister and her husband, 30, to erase shame brought to their family when she ran away from home with the man.

They had to refund the bride-price to the husband she was promised to. In Islam, the groom is supposed to furnish a bride price (mahr). The contract may be made years in advance. If the marriage is not consummated, the groom is due a refund.
Then why were they arrested and charged with a crime?
Ok, I read the original article and it seems they haven’t been arrested, but the police are seeking them because they are described as being at large.
Since murder is still a crime in Yemen, the religious authorities will yet be called upon to make a determination whether their brothers’ sororicide was justifiable. I believe their punishment will ultimately be horrendously minimal.
