Chipotle Pulls Sponsorship of Utah Boy Scout Event

Chipotle Mexican Grill has pulled its sponsorship of Utah's "Scout-O-Rama" because of the Boy Scouts of America's long-standing ban on gays.

The popular Colorado-based restaurant chain initially signed on to provide about $4,200 worth of coupons to the Utah Boy Scouts' annual event, scheduled for May 4 in a Salt Lake City suburb. The Boy Scouts' Great Salt Lake Council is one of the largest in the country, with the majority of troops sponsored by Mormon churches.

To: who knows what evil?
Why are they pandering to 1% of the population?

Because they are infested at high levels by the 1%.

They will no longer be the BSA when they do, like the denominations that went homosexual friendly are but a mere shadow of their former self.

Mostly Mexi restaurants, and of course we’re seeing them with landscaping and construction companies, etc, but not too much with restaurants... yet.

I’m not saying do this at just one store, or a few stores, but company wide. A boycott won’t work on a national level. They’ll get enough business despite a boycott, with perhaps exceptions in specific areas. Having to throw out a lot of product nationwide makes a bigger impact.

Either way, what do you hope the BSA’s decision is going to be?

A lot of that outcome depends on whatever the stance of the organizations with membership in the BSA leadership feel or do. Hopefully the religious backgrounds play a good decision. I hope this because I am a scout, and proud of all the achievements and life skills I made in scouting, but my concern lies as to the day where the BSA either caves or simply decides to shut down instead of accept a certain decision.

Sometimes May doesn’t come soon enough!

No problem.
If bending over for homosexuals is more important for this restaurant then standing by the Boyscouts and morality then this business can KMA and do without my business. So long dumbasses............

Chipotle is not bad, but for the same money (sometimes less) I can get a pretty good burrito from a local taqueria. I guess I now have another reason not to eat there.

another truism...tell people enough times how popular a certain jerk is or how great the policies, eventually they'll concede with the supposed throngs that they're right...

point is....HOW do we know Col. was just not another state stolen in the election?...

OUR opinions are being swallowed up by these wide brushes of how all these people voted for bamey the boy, and infact, IMO, he stole this past election...

I have a long ago friend who's husband never had to go into the draft and instead stayed in school for engineering and worked many yrs as a defense dept engineer....can imagine he made terrific money and now probably has $100,000 pension...

they moved to Col and live near ski country...and yep, they are about as liberal as can be, even after all the years of taking defense money....
