Sounds like we need less department of defense and more private sector.

Yep. Bush's fault for sure.

I shouldn't be, but I continue to be amazed at the capacity of the main stream media to deflect and defer any blame for this miserable state of affairs on the party that controls one of the two houses of Congress and the White Hut,

Their hypocricy is beyond nauseating and well into criminal.

There are some similarities with Jimmy Malaise Carter. Lots of Viet Nam Veterans came home to find few jobs and a hostile population that would not give a vet a job. Carter had wrecked the economy with his voodoo economics. Gas prices were rising daily and gas shortages were common. Few vets wanted to work for the Government but with veterans preference we swallowed our pride and worked for the evil empire.

These are usually fit young men. They should try nearby North Dakota for energy related jobs. Or Texas. Sometimes you have to move to where the jobs are.
