“I just don’t get how people can be so continually stupid about this - chemical weapons in Syria simply aren’t proof that Iraq had chemical weapons in 2003...”

Come and bang your head on the wall with me for a while. I don’t think you can change anybody’s mind on this. The lie has been repeated too many times by people who don’t know a dang thing about Syria. The fact that Syria had one of the largest chemical weapons stockpiles in the world prior to any problems with Iraq means absolutely nothing to people who claim to somehow know what chemical weapons in Syria came from Iraq and what weapons didn’t.

While it is possible Iraqi chem weapons were sent to Syria ahead of ther American invasion, nobody knows. Anything else is all talk and posturing.

I've also heard claims that Saddam's chemical weapons ended up in Libya.

But, if you will allow me to don my tin-foil hat: what if that "truck convoy to Syria" wasn't chemical weapons at all?

Do you remember the facility in Syria that was bombed by Israel, out of the blue? Syria never protested, they just quickly bulldozed it and plowed what remained into the ground.

I've always wonder what was going on there, and spurred Israel to commit to a preemptive attack.
