I wonder if the real reason for this nonsense is to slow down the works so that people come back to the USPS.
Speaking of the USPS..they are not mentioned..Everytime I mail a sealed package, the clerk accepts at face value. Why are they different than other shippers?

FedEx is non-union and run by Fred Smith who seems like a fairly pro-business guy - I can see the regime trying to go after them.
But UPS is the beloved Teamsters and would likely be on the crony capitalism list.
