Thomas Drake, a former senior executive at the National Security Agency (NSA) who was charged under the espionage act after he highlighted waste, fraud and illegal activity at the intelligence agency, spoke at a National Press Club Luncheon about the national intelligence community and its attitude towards whistle-blowing.

He gives an account of his whistleblower ordeal from the NSA. He blasts the pervasive spying on US citizens without warrant, including the government's suppression, under the cover of law, of first amendment rights exposing their corruption.
We need many more whistleblowers. I never understand why conservatives hate whistleblowers. We need to pull back the curtain of secrecy.
Just think of what HHS will be collecting on us now from the original stimulus ($40 billion for electronic records before there were laws on the books to manage them). Add in SS, IRS, military, NSA mining social media and telecom, and whatever agency we've interacted with - and they know us better then we know ourselves...
