The curly-haired baby looks out from the poster with sad eyes and tears dripping down his tawny cheeks.

“I’m twice as likely not to graduate high school because you had me as a teen,” the text next to his head reads.

In another poster, a dark-skinned little girl casts her eyes to the sky and says, “Honestly Mom ... chances are he won’t stay with you. What happens to me?”

If there are any Christian leaders remaining in the Black community they would take this opportunity to talk to teens about why God’s law warns them not to engage in sex until they are married adults and ready and able to support and raise their precious children. It’s not because God is a prude or mean. It is because that is the way His creation was designed to operate in a loving and abundant way and that is what He wants for every one of them and created them to be.

Teen moms and their children really have a hard time and to say so is not being mean. Parents who have been through it should want to warn young people how hard it is and that they should wait until they are married. To say that gay sex produces an abundent amount of disease and short lifespan, is not mean to say either.

The truth is hard to face for all of us at times, but it is the opposite of being mean. We have to plow through the extra obsticles in life when we make poor choices. But children should be warned about the school of hard knocks that comes with America’s social freedom to chose and liberalism’s advocacy of social and moral ignornance and self destruction.

“Teen” pregnancy is not the issue. Out of wedlock pregnancy is the problem.

I agree 100%. In my (Orthodox-Jewish) community, many girls marry as young as 18 and become mothers right away. They have lovely kids, wholesome homes.

Age of mother is not important. It's level morality & maturity.

Why don’t people admit that sex causes babies?”

Great question. But your answer is obviously too simple and makes way too much sense to satisfy the libs. Look at all the articles that would not be written and all the causes that wouldn’t be funded by our tax dollars.

I grew up on a farm so knew all there was to know about the entire process from the time I was a small child but I was raised during a time when absolutely nobody used the “sex” word or ever talked about body parts. When I was about 14 my adoptive father took it upon himself to tell me that one day very soon I would probably begin to have a different kind of “itch that I would want to scratch but I should wait until I got married”. Still have to laugh when I think about our discussion.

I had talks with my kids and now my own grandsons that are much more frank and explicit and with the grandsons it always ends with “do not ever unzip that zipper unless you are ready, willing and able to accept responsibility for raising a child”.

>> Poverty causes pregnancy? I thought sex caused it. Silly me.

“Honey, we’re overdrawn. Still have that headache?”

"“It’s not teen pregnancies that cause poverty, but poverty that causes teen pregnancy,” she said."

Actually, the cultural factors that are the major cause of poverty generally correlate with a high incidence of teen pregnancy.
