LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Unified School District has agreed to a multimillion-dollar settlement with 58 current and former students at a school where an ex-teacher was accused of taking bondage-style photos of pupils, a lawyer for the district said on Tuesday.
The settlement would resolve nearly half of the 129 claims filed by former students of Miramonte Elementary School, attorney David Holmquist said.

Mark Berndt, the first of two former Miramonte teachers accused of molesting students there, made headlines when he was charged in January 2012 with 23 counts of lewd acts on children, all aged 10 and younger.

I wish I had proof on this one, but with so much money at stake most of these lawsuits are ginned up by parents and teachers. Some are not.
Please allow me to say that there is no amount of money that can make up for being abused like this.
How about you get a 20 million lawsuit award because some edumacator photographed you with alleged “bondage porn” once or twice. That sounds like a great deal

When poor people see so much (taxpayer) money up for grabs anything can happen. You must remember we live in the age of Obama.
Such as, there were pedophile priests, But how many phony victims hopped on board that one. You hear there are 5 claims of that priest molesting boys 25 years ago. You claim you were molested by him too. The priest cannot credibly deny your claim while (perhaps) admitting the other valid ones. The jury and public will figure everyone who claimed it, was indeed a true victim
