Have you ever watched WWII movies on a Mexican TV station with Mexicans as the allies? I have.
Spent some quiet nights in a hotel in Presideo TX. Had business there. It was a hoot.
Of course they contributed 0 to the war effort of the allies much less had combatants there. (There may have been a few individuals along the border of Texas who pulled it off, but nothing connected to their government.)
Now, understand there have always been Tejanos and Gringos in Texas and lots of Tejanos and Mexicans (self identified) served in the US Military.

I served in the Army with Hispanics from the Southwest who were among my best friends. I have no sympathy with this kind of stuff, though.
