The proposed increases in health care payments by service members, which must be approved by Congress, are part of the Pentagons $487 billion cut in spending. It seeks to save $1.8 billion from the Tricare medical system in the fiscal 2013 budget, and $12.9 billion by 2017.
Not everybody is happy with the plan, however.
Military personnel would see their annual Tricare premiums increase anywhere from 30 - 78 percent in the first year, followed by sharply increased premiums "ranging from 94 percent to 345 percentmore than 3 times current levels."
"According to congressional assessments, a retired Army colonel with a family currently paying $460 a year for health care will pay $2,048," Gertz wrote.

It’s one thing to disappoint off your “friends” (sociopaths like Øbongo have no friends), it’s another thing entirely to pizz off your enemies.
If there is any justice in the world, this nightmare would end at GITMO.
Odd to have a president in the White House who fundamentally hates America.
He keeps on chopping away at the ankles of our military; let’s hope the balloon doesn’t go up in North Korea or Iran.
Obama and his gang of fools are trying to undermine any and everything that is good in the USA. Take our Guns, Tax our Ammo, make us pay more for everything we need and use. The king and his court get all the benefits free and we the tax payer foots the bill.
When will we stop this total BS??

How does this affect 89 year old WWII widows on Tricare?
I have repeatedly addressed this issue with my supposedly conservative Congressman, Jeff Duncan.
He avoids this issue like the plague.
Thanks. Did not see that it was old news. Nothing to see here.
They kicked most of us off Tricare Prime.
“If there is any justice in the world, this nightmare would end at GITMO.”
I’m kind of hoping that the military might turn their backs on their “leader” on his upcoming visit to the muzzieworld.
What a sad day to see this,”Obama to cut medical benefits for active, retired military, not union workers” then there was the Cut to aid to the military for school but illegals get tuition assistance..............I guess the left is happy their plan of insanity is working well. My heart is heavy for our men and women who serve our country and are being thrown under the bus
He’s cut tuition assistance for the military. And I understand that the Columbus Ga. airport control tower. He’s also going to close the contol tower at Albert Whitted airport in downtown St. Petersburg. It’s very busy airspace there and I swear Obama is looking for a mid-air with dead he can blame on the Republicans. That man is just flat out wicked.
Dang it. I didn't notice.
Insurance changes cause concern for military widow
"Oh my goodness, maybe I won't be able to use the same physicians that I've been using," said Neithamer, an unsettling thought for the widow, who gave a copy of the letter to ABC-7.
She said what wasn't clear is that she is the exception because she is covered under TRICARE for Life, something that was not mentioned in the letter.
0bama’s ideal scenario for the military is to drive down enlistments and force current serviceman OUT so he’d have the excuse he needs to call in U.N. ‘peacekeepers’ to take their place. They’d be more than happy to shoot American citizens.
every retired military over 65 goes on MEDICARE
our “free medical care for life” just went up by $800 a year and our prescription costs doubled
yeah, ever notice how they keep using TRICARE Prime cost as if most retirees have access to it?
Then they interview these retired Colonels who became Beltway bandits to make it look like everyone has cheap medical care even if cost triples?
