I’m not sure how much they’re being paid though.

Here in NYC, the minimum wage is slated to go up to $8.75/hour after the next vote. That’s quite a handsome sum compared to what these illegals can earn in Mexico.

I have a friend who had his basement redone. He hired a contractor whose workers could not speak English.

After the job was done, he told me that had he hired other above-the-board paying contractors, he would have paid 30% or 40% more.

The thing is this -— NYC Cops KNOW that many of these illegals are working here for less than the minimum wage but don’t do a thing about it. They just shrug and say as long as they’re not committing any crime, it is not their job to arrest them ( or even inform immigration ).

That’s what you get in a de facto sanctuary city.
