On Friday, the PBS NewsHour featured a story titled "A 'Celebration of Immortality' for Hugo Chavez." This is an odd title for liberals who believe in science and would know when Hugo Chavez has assumed room temperature.
But it grew worse: the segment from former BBC correspondent Matt Frei (now with ITN) actually put Chavez in a "top three" of immortality with Jesus Christ:
For a guy who bought the Marxist lie - hook, line, and sinker - he certainly did not expect an afterlife did he?
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias Chavez, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away".
It’s never a good idea to watch The PBS News Hour without clinging tightly to a very large shovel.
Facts, logic, history and reason never encumber the liberal mind.
Whether or not he did, I have no doubts about his immortality and am quite confident he'll be spending eternity in one of two places....
Good attitude Joe.

Thanks GB. I do have my opinions about where I think Chavez should spend eternity, but to express them would be doing God’s job when I should be trying to do God’s work :-)
Jesus said unto her (Martha), I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever, liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25)
When we sin, we die (the wages of sin is death), but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23).
Did Chavez believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? If not, the soul of Hugo Chavez is in hell right now (Luke 16). He is not celebrating. There will be no "cold beer" to sooth his burning tongue.
