Pelosi: ‘Tax Cuts Are Spending’ March 7, 2013 By Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) said today that the government must cut spending, and then explained that: “Tax cuts are spending.”

“Our whole budget is what $3.5 trillion,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill press conference. “So, when we talk about reducing spending, we certainly must, and we certainly have--$1.6 trillion in the previous Congress, $1.2 of it in the Budget Control Act.

“But spending is also related to tax cuts,” said Pelosi. Tax cuts are spending. Tax expenditures, they are called. Subsidies for big oil, subsidies to send jobs overseas, breaks to send jobs overseas, breaks for corporate jets. They are called tax expenditures. Spending money on tax breaks.

She may be nuts, but she’s not the only one. Former Senator Jon Kyl, R of AZ, always referred to them as “Tax Expenditures.” I hated that.

Wait.
A long time ago she had this to say, “you have to increase spending to pay for a tax cut.”
So she’s now saying that tax cuts are spending?
So it pays for itself!

Only outside the parallel universe of Washington, DC. Within this universe, she is near the top of the food chain.

The only way you can believe this is if you think 100% of everyone’s production belongs to the government and it is “spending” to allow us to keep any of it. That is more commonly known as slavery.

By that line of reasoning, any money that you earn that the government does not take away from you is spending.

In other words, all money/labor rightfully belongs to the feral government.

There are no Tax Cuts, there are Tax Rate Cuts.

The Evil Bush Tax Rate Cuts (for the Rich) raised Federal Tax Revenue 35% in just four years.

This is the equivelent of Basline budgeting.

The current services is X and then it assumes a 8% increase. hus if spending increases by 4% then the budget was “slashed” by 4%v even though the true difference is about 2%.

By this logic if tax revenue is Y and it is reduced by a tax rate reduction then the difference must be made up somehow if we are to keep the budget baseline static.

While technically she is correct in the context she is speaking, the reality simply doesn’t pass mathematical scrutiny.

so is purging according to her warped logic.

i just saved a billion dollars this year. see i made up a budget of a billion and forty thousand, and being an awesome saver, i was able to cut a billion dollars of spending. and i can’t even print my own oney or make it up out of thin air by fractional reserve lending, so this is really a big deal.

It requires no money from anyone to take less of my own money. It does require money from people to pay for refundable credits, however.

She’s not nuts. She actually beleives this. As all liberals do. All money is the government’s and we get to keep what they allow. This is their thinking.

In the 70’s, when Ronald Reagan was governor of California, there was a surplus and Reagan’s aides asked him what he would like to do with it. He said return it to the people. This had not been done before. And a member of the legislature (democrat of course) rose in protest and said the considered returning the surplus to the people as “an unneccesary expenditure of public funds.”

This is how they think!
