Always wondered why they built Detroit in Michigan .... I guess they wanted it to fit in.
If you know a little history of the area, you learn that there was a little war between Ohio and Michigan over Toledo. Michigan lost, and Toledo became part of Ohio.
Well, the same is true about Detroit. There was a little war between Canada (England) and Michigan over Detroit. Michigan lost that one too, and so Detroit became part of Michigan.
