The WA State GOP has indeed drunk the Kool-Aid, the union kool-aid, that is. I was actually told by the campaign manager for our congressional candidate that the unions were ready to vote Republican if the Republicans showed support for their issues (meaning the coal terminals). Of course it never happened.
The Republicans had a ready made issue to take over most of the state elective positions and they turned it down.
The enviros are just waking up to the fact that working to weaken the US as a world power will also diminish their own power, both here at home and globally. They have been preaching global warming and sustainability for so long that they have come to believe it themselves and are shocked when the New World Order and globalization conflict with their domestic agenda.
Did anyone catch the reference for the article in the normally lib publication, Rush said criticized, surprisingly, Hugo? I think he quoted the words “abject failure”.
