Just yesterday, I was reminising with family about what Berkeley, Emeryville and Oakland were like in the 50s. As kids the whole familt used to take the Key Train to Montgomery Wards in Oakland (There wasn't one in San Francisco.)
And we never had to wear bulletproof vests.
