An elderly man from the Gresham neighborhood whos already facing attempted murder charges is now accused of harassing his alleged victim and trying to persuade her to drop the case against him.
Walter Wilson, 80, of the 8700 block of South Bishop, was arrested Saturday and charged with violating an order of protection, unlawful communication and harassing a witness. On Sunday, Cook County Jude Israel Desierto ordered him held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Police said Wilson called his alleged victims cellphone more than 25 times and left her messages. They also said Wilson talked to the woman and told her to drop the charges.
When she refused, police said Wilson said he was going to get everybody involved.
Assistant States Attorney Lisa Morrison said Wilson was charged with shooting the woman at a beauty salon in 2011. He was also found guilty of aggravated battery for shooting the same woman in 1989, she said.
Dang!! Think I see some of Chicago's problem here.
And the 80 year old ^&$#@*! was still out on the street??????????
The older the Amish get, the more dangerous.
Apparently the way to own a gun in Chicago and keep it is to use it illegally and make sure that everyone knows it.
Yes, and he will have it better in prison, than on the streets. 3 hots, a cot, and the ABSOLUTE very best health care on earth. What a country.
It’s time to put this old guy away for a while.
I’d say 20 years should do it.
“You know, this lady, Roberta Woodward, and I have known each other over twenty years and we’ve always had a friendly, respectful relationship. I didn’t want to show her my pimp hand—but whatchagonnado?”
It’s the Chicago way.
At that age, ANYTHING a guy does is “attempted”;)
I wonder if he’ll shoot her again in another 22 years. Check back in 2033.
Assault with a dead weapon
Mr. Wilson was turning his life around and was an aspiring rapper.
Mr. Wilson’s mother Delilah Cherry, 92 said, “My baby diddin do nuffin! Let that boy go free!””
