I'll try to explain but I don't know that it will help.

An aquaintence of mine, actually a pretty good friend, was a leader of the local KKK. Mostly made up of union workers, un-employed drug dealers and disaffected youth. In other words, Democrats.

When they got together, they loved to drink, smoke dope, and play Rap music. I, and my wife, didn't understand the seeming conflict between white racist listening to black music, and the fact that all these white racist voted with the black folks. So, my wife, without my blessing I might add, decided to start asking a few questions.

So, the Grand Dragon, or whatever, kinda explained it this way. “Well, you can't kill’em or beat’em anymore and actually if you get to know ‘em they are just like us rednecks only they're niggers. So, all in all we just try to get along the best we can.”

Made sense to me....

“un-employed drug dealers”

Gotta be laid off...because they are usually not around after termination....

The machine that ended the support for the KKK in the south: http://www.livinghistoryfarm.org/farminginthe50s/machines_15.html

After the cotton combines there was no longer the need to prevent blacks from leaving for better wages elsewhere.

I’ve seen some post online and known a few (definitely wouldn’t call them friends or even acquaintances) and they love Democrat policies, especially LBJ’s Great Society because they think it is creating a separation in the cultures they want. A means to an end.

Sadly, African Americans don’t see LBJ’s great society as a new enslavement and very few have ever taken the time to hear LBJ’s own words from the White House recordings on what he thought of the African American community and how he saw using welfare to keep them under the party thumb.

LOL, so what you are saying is that the KKK is nothing more than a social club now. I get it.
