Actually the Romneys have never really been relevant imho and the big bucks got them the nomination pure and simple. Mitt has been on every side of every issue. They are champions of no cause. Also, they made many enemies on the way to getting the Republican nod. Bye bye Mitt - I doubt you will be missed by anyone.
Yes, he was slightly less evil than Obama but you can’t win the presidency if that is the only thing you bring to the table.
Romney fits in with Fox snooze just fine. He could be on the All Star panel to explain Conservatism to their viewers.
