How can it be that 61% of the electorate believes that gay marriage is okay, yet a majority of the electorate voted for prop. 8
A bit of a long shot, since I know nothing of California voters. I do know Northern Michigan people though. There is the "Bradley Effect" and the "Bandwagon Effect" though I doubt whether it is the latter.
Simply put, it is well known that in some matters, the person polled will say what he/she thinks the pollster would approve of. I find that in matters of so-called race and homosexuality a number of people are scared of being thought intolerant. Their views privately often differ. Just a thought here.
