Perhaps obama and feinstein will try to make sharpened weapons illegal as well, in that so many members of obama’s administration are falling on their swords to give him cover.

I doubt it. I'm sure that's one type of fatal result (the main victim being the truth) that they heartily approve. They'd probably even make an exception for true automatic weapons if needed to give them sufficient cover(ups).
