Hagel sworn in as Defense secretary
The Hill ^ | 2/27/13 | Jeremy Herb

Posted on 02/27/2013 9:16:36 AM PST by OPS4

New Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said Wednesday that the United States must engage in the world and work with its allies as he addressed Defense Department employees and service members for the first time as Pentagon chief. “We can't dictate to the world, but we must engage in the world. We must lead with our allies,” Hagel said in his first speech as secretary. “Allies are, as everyone in this room knows, particularly important. No nation — as great as America is — can do any of this alone.

I can only, at this point, wish Hagel all the best.

He has the job, and short of Divine Intervention, is not likely to be removed. So all we can do is hope&pray that Hagel's mental problems will be overcome, and he will lead the Defense of our Nation with honor and dignity.

That being said, I'm glad that I don't live in NYC or Washington D.C. for everybody knows they are prime targets.

How it is that our nation is being placed in serious jeopardy more and more everyday, whether it is our debt, regulations, supporting our enemies, with fighter planes, monies, tanks, closing NASA exploration, welcoming Islamics, weakening our defense on every level, and they are getting away with it. Most can not believe the leadership is not our friend. HOW CAN THIS BE?

The election was very close and yet the government proceeds as if they had a mandate.

Pray for mercy from God Almighty. We need to turn back to our creator in repentance. In truth and ask for forgiveness for our immoral life choices. Daily. Hagel is a poor poor choice as defense head. He is incapable. Pray for our departments of defense at all levels. We are castrating America as we sit here today. God bless America. Forgive us Father for our turning away from thee and thy Word. Show mercy and forgive our offenses, in Jesus name. Amen.

I said, and posted this comment yesterday. I'll say it again today.

This is VALIDATION that it is pretty much ONE BIG LOSERS CLUB.

Unqualified or inept, the mentality seems to be... "I'll support you as long as you support me."

My point: Ineptness begets MORE ineptness."

Hate to say it but I always knew he’d be confirmed. Obama always gets what he wants from this Congress, and most of the stuff they were trying to nail Hagel about are not within the purview of the SecDef but rather the POTUS.

I`ve come to a personal conclusion.

No matter who is elected the Beast just grows larger and more suffocating each day, literally. Look at the debt spending clock.

So if the Beast grows freedom must necessary forfeit.

The USA is the Beast System,

Revelation 13:4

” Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? “

That is it ! Who can go up against the Federal Government and subdue it ? No one. Gov.t continues to metastasize no matter what. The Beast is unstoppable by any man or group of men.

Want to go up against Obama?

He has TRILLIONS of dollars to either fight you with through lawsuit or regulation or can withhold it and inflict chaos that way.

Want to go up against the Beast by yourself and think your tough?
You`ll get Wacoed, Ruby Ridged or droned.

Want to try change the Beast politically?
It will subdue you and break your will.

Are you a foreign country and want to resist the influence of the Beast?
The pressure brought to bear with tacticts from bribing with billions of dollars to arming insurgents will break you.

My advice is simple:

Matt; 10:23

“But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another...”

Keep your head down. Don`t talk to strangers. Live in a relatively safe place.Mind your own business. Interact with the Beast System as little as possible.

That's like saying the Republins can win if they let the Democrats win first.
In fact, that is exactly how the Republicans have been playing politics.

Obama’s plan to use a republican as cover to gut the defense department

It's the perfect cover. Anything that goes wrong will legitimately be blamed on the republicans. Sequester and all that will be caused from it, here we come.

Hagel has the full backing of Iran and Louis Farrakhan..gee..what could POSSIBLY go wrong/sarc
This country is screwed..its been screwed for a long time but this is just confirmation of that fact..how a guy who despises America and despises Israel could become Secretary of Defense is beyond me..but I guess since Obama was elected TWICE I guess anything is possible

Thanks Rand Paul for showing your true colors.

&&&
Uh-huh. Funny, after Paul made his great comments a few weeks ago, a brother-in-law asked my opinion of Rand. I told him that I was impressed with that speech, but I was not ready to trust him, mainly because of his father’s lunacy. Looks like my instincts about Rand were right.

On the bright side....he’s probably too stupid to really screw things up as badly as someone who knew what they were doing.

I think that's what many Republicans thought all along. Better a fool with at least some actual military experience than the doctrinaire Marxist of color they would not dare turn down who they were likely to get as a second nominee.

I also think Hagel's Republican support was broader than the vote he got - many wanted to support him but voted against him to maintain plausible deniability at home.
