A knife with a hollow handle is a broken knife in the bush. Ya need a real tang into the handle. IMHO.

Most of those knives are made from solid billets, and are strong enough to use as crowbars.

Before the whole Rambo craze, I had a guy who lived in my neighborhood who was a knife maker. His survival knife was a 10” pipe that he had heated and hammered 1/2 of the knife into a blade and then welded on a guard.
Ugly thing and heavy but it worked though.

WHA...??? What'chyoo talkin' about? Legendary maker Chris Reeve makes indestructible hollow handled survival knives.

Note that is an issue not even related to the handle per se.
Poor guy. Reeve knives are not cheap. Probably cost him at least $400. That's where they were last time I priced them.
