Patricia “Pat” Stryker, a kingmaker in Colorado politics, helped steer thousands of dollars to a congressional candidate who later lobbied for a $400 million loan guarantee for Stryker’s now-bankrupt solar company.

She catapulted into the Forbes 400 after inheriting billions from her medical devices tycoon grandfather Homer Stryker. Despite dropping out of University of Northern Colorado as a student..

The heiress owns a 5.3 percent share of Stryker Corp. Stryker Corp. is also at odds with Obamacare. In 2011, it laid off 1,000 workers to make room for the law’s 2.3 percent tax on medical devices. That has not stopped Stryker or her family from supporting 0. Her brother Jon has contributed $2 million to Obama’s Super PAC, Priorities USA. Pat, who has visited the White House three times, donated $50,000 to Obama’s inauguration fund and $9,600 to the campaign.

Stryker has given national Democrats more than $523,000 since 2007, but her chief interests remain in Colorado, where she has given $3 million to political organizations over that time. Stryker trails only Polis and Gill for the title of Colorado’s largest political donor.

One of many corrupt green energy projects involving the Obama administration and people with big bucks who donate to him. The modern version of the old “pay to play” scam.

Another tidbit about Abound Solar:

As the now-bankrupt stimulus loan recipient Abound Solar filed for Chapter 7 (liquidation) bankruptcy in early July thanks largely to its defective modules, the Department of Energy still praised the company’s work as “innovative” and cost competitive, all while it blamed Abound’s failure on China for dumping underpriced panels on the market.

And now, despite the fact that Abound no longer exists, DOE is still withholding public information about the company because it claims it would harm the inactive business’s competitive edge by disclosing trade secrets.

~snip~

“Our solar modules worked as long as you didn’t put them in the sun,” an internal source told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

More green energy lunacy.

Coincidentally, a couple months ago I was hired to perform bird surveys prior to construction of a huge solar project in California. After finishing all my surveys and getting paid handsomely, I found out the solar project was totally cancelled. Never did find out why.

What a colossal waste of taxpayer money!
