Well, Erickson’s had his party-first RINO moments and he was no friend of Sarah Palin’s, which left a bad taste in my mouth. That’s probably the lingering odor you remember.

That’s nice, but it misses a more important point — that what Erickson says about McDonnell stands or falls on it’s own, and has nothing to do with whether at some point Erickson might have decided to say something nice about Romney.

McDonnell backed Romney. So even if you are going to judge between them based on pro-Romney comments, McDonnell would still come out a loser.

It’s tiresome to try to discuss current problems without being distracted by complaints about what politician some pundit decided to back in a prior race.

If we restrict accepting attacks on current politicians to those attackers with a pure record, we’ll hardly ever have any good pieces posted about what the current politicians are doing wrong.

So I say if Juan Williams happens to make a good point about some republican politician, we should post and discuss it. It’s the message, not the messenger.
