I wonder - certainly the benefits of remaining poor are enormous, while the so-called “rich” are dunned and taxed and criticized unrelentingly for abusing everyone else.

I would argue that immigrants are coming to America quite INTENTIONALLY to remain poor.

“Poor” is a relative term, depending on where one hails from, but you’re right. A Mexican can get welfare at home, hence the move here. We go out of our way to pander to foreign immigrants from poorer countries and to spit on our own citizens.
