I went to a Golden Corral in Alabama once. I took a look at the other patrons, lost my appetite, tried to eat a salad to get some of my money’s worth, and then went home.

Watching dozens of 300-400 lb. people eat without limits on portion size is disgusting. I refuse to go to another buffet.

I don't know if it was a Golden Corral, but we went to one of those all-you-can-eat place once where everyone stood in chutes to load up their plate off of a moving buffet on a conveyor.

There was one woman there who was so fat she used 3 chairs - one for her crack area, and 1 for each bun. (Or as much of each bun as would fit.)

I don't know anything about the GC you went to but the one I like to go to is very clean with clean employees and yes there are over weight people but you make it sound like a hog feeder..I for one love the food we get there I do not go for seconds thirds just once..I weigh 145 and am 5'7”I love the veggies there and love the great employees that are very nice..

People if you want a good home cooked southern meal go to golden Corral great veggies..and they also serve lean meat..Have great sweets (i can't eat those)...

LOL, I don't eat at buffets partially because of this as well (and the food usually sucks). Buffet cattle and Sams/Costco grazers are two pet peeves.

I agree with your observations. I no longer patronize any of the all you can eat, serve yourself kinds of places. They are full of horribly obese gluttons. Not to mention having multiple patrons doing the "serve yourself" approach with no care to contamination of serving utensils. Was any person ahead of you the kind that doesn't thoroughly wash hands after leaving the restroom? Anyone with cold or flu contamination left on the utensils? No thanks. It's no bargain.
