The made for TV movie was actually toned WAY down. Read some accounts of the events. They had to dynamite the jail three times before the deputies surrendered. Vets were beaten and arrested before they started retaliating and arresting the “deputies”. This event should be taught in schools but I had never heard of it until a few years ago and I grew up here in TN.
