DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —A wanted man left behind a path of destruction when he tried to flee police officers trying to arrest him in Daytona Beach early Thursday, police officers said.

Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said his officers spotted White in his vehicle and boxed him in, but he allegedly rammed the officer's truck and fled down Mason Avenue where he crashed into a vehicle.

White then burst into a home on Berkshire Road, trying to hide, police said.

"The guy is telling (the homeowner), 'The cops are after me, and I'm going to give you $1,000 to hide me.' This guy just got up. He's brushing his teeth," said Chitwood.

Police said the homeowner grabbed a gun.

"During the struggle that goes out on to the porch, the homeowner fires a shot at him, and the homeowner says, 'Look, I could have killed him. I didn't want to kill him. I could have killed him. I had the right to kill him," said Chitwood.

Police said White had a gun, too. They said they found a fully loaded magazine on him but believe he dumped the weapon in a nearby cemetery while running.

White tried to tell WESH 2 reporter Claire Metz that there were more people involved, but police said it was a one-man crime wave.

"This is a guy that belongs locked up," said Chitwood.

Thats what James Brady, Gabby Gifford and other individuals who can no longer think for themselves are saying.

“’Look, I could have killed him. I didn’t want to kill him. I could have killed him. I had the right to kill him,” said Chitwood.”

What the hell is it with people in Florida? This is the second article I’ve seen here in 10 minutes, where the homeowner decides to let the career criminal live.

Maybe President Obama is right, maybe there are too many guns in the hands of unqualified people - people unwilling to take care of persistent problems, when given the chance.

“This is a guy that belongs locked up,” said Chitwood............................ If this happened in Cuomo’s NY, it would be the homeowner he was talking about.

If Obama and his filthy treasonist democrats had their way, the innocent citizen would likely be dead.

That's easy to say from behind a keyboard.

I had someone try to force my front door open at 0300. I originally thought an animal was on my porch...I pulled the door open, saw one of 0bama's sons, and clicked the Mossberg from 'safe' to 'die.'

The guy froze....well most of him did; his bowels didn't. He messed himself (literally) right there on the porch. I could've killed him. Some would even say I should've killed him. The Federal OO Buck would've tore his face off point blank.

But, I know it would've been a bad shot. At the moment in time his hands were displayed empty and he made no further movement, he was no longer a threat to me.

I've killed before....quite a few times actually. I have no worries, no regrets, and a clear presence of mind before God. While I could "justify" that the guy deserved killing, I would know that I killed a man that didn't pose further threat to me or mine. Had he flinched an inch, I'd have vaporized him.

Now, had I been like the guy in the story, and there was a struggle - yes, I would've killed him. Some people have guns, need guns, and deserve to have guns for their protection.....that doesn't mean the need to kill someone just because the "opportunity presents itself." Some folks probably wouldn't deal well with killing another.

Me, I don't have a problem with it, but my personal belief is I want to be right with God for the killing I do/have done.

You are most correct, talk is cheap.

Most are fortunate to have never been on ‘the spot’.

Recall the news about that crazy that shot the two kids and went back and shot them again. (Min. ?)

“That’s easy to say from behind a keyboard.”

It is, I agree. It’s not possible to consider the long-term implications if you take a life when the person was begging to live. If you let him go, he may strike again...if you take him out, you will see his face for the rest of your life, and wonder, just maybe, you had scared him enough to straighten out - and now you ended all that. It’s a dirty little secret that many, if not most, of these people are smart enough to do just fine in this country, but no one tells them that.
