The Tesla super charger is a 60 kWh device. Let’s see . . . 60 kWh . . . times 10,000 spaces . . . carry the seven . . . that would come to 600 mWh. That would be about equal to the output of 200 diesel/electric locomotives, or a small nuclear power plant.
That really shouldn’t be a problem. I’m sure that New York City has electricity to spare, and Bloomberg could always restrict residential air conditioning in the summer—limit usage to 16 ounces of air conditioning or something.
Adding curbside charging stations will probably put so much drain on the underground electric wiring distribution system in The City that the manholes will smoke!
