"We are long overdue for sensible meteor control."

Ha ha ha! Don't give the Dems any ideas...Bloomberg is already busy cleaning up the galaxy, one Dart styro cup at a time.

Bwahahahaha!

Remember this guy?

Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the nationalist leader noted for vehement statements, said “It’s not meteors falling, it’s the test of a new weapon by the Americans,” the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

Vladamir, we wish! But Obama would NEVER do something like that to YOUR country. He might test it over say, Alabama or Utah...

"cockamamie theory"

What...you don't believe that could be possible? We know from scientists like Danny Glover that global warming causes earthquakes. So it's reasonable to assume that automobiles draw in asteroids. After all, Nye has a degree in mechanical engineering. That makes him an expert on everything scientific. (smirk)

You would think with all of the eyes in the sky with the approaching asteroid that they might have seen this 10 ton meteor coming.

Maybe the resolution is quite good enough to see a 10 ton meteor. 10 ton = large pickup truck sized?

Oh yeah, I forgot - Bill Nye is another one of those "World's Foremost Authorities" on everything! Like these esteemed colleagues:

I just read this from one of the articles -

“”According to an unconfirmed report in Russia Today, the meteorite was intercepted by Russian air defense.””

I just had to lol, that thing was coming in at about 33k mph, unless they have a big laser we know nothing about they didn’t intercept squat.

For those of you interested in prophecies:
“See how Russia will burn!” Before my eyes there extended an immense field covered with flames and smoke, in which souls were submerged as if in a sea of fire!

“And all this fire,” concluded the Madonna, “is not that which will fall from the hands of men, but will be hurled directly from the Angels (at the time of the great chastisement or “housecleaning” that will come upon the earth). Therefore I ask prayers, penance and sacrifice, so I may act as Mediatrix for my Son in order to save souls.” 4-7-1950 http://www.summorumpontificum.net/2011/09/for-fourth-anniversary-of-summorum.html

We’d have to be really lucky to see something this small before it hit; the 2008 Sudan meteorite (7-16 feet in diameter) was detected 20 hours before it hit, and that was a lucky fluke.

BTW, In the Ukrainian Language of the NIV Bible, The star in Revelation that falls from heaven, called “Wormwood”, is translated to “Chernobyl”.

Not according to Google translate.

Slight problem is that none of Russia is on fire from this at all.

And it’s a bit hard to accept something that’s happened to this Planet probably 100 million times as a sign of jack diddly squat.

Must quibble...

“Chernobyl” does not translate as Wormwood. “Chernobyl” translates as “Mugwort”.

Mugwort and Wormwood are plants of the same family (Artemisia), but are named Artemisia absinthium and Artemisia vulgaris, respectively.

I probably would have been standing at the window and gotten cut up like everyone else.

I guess that’s now a safety tip - if you see something like this indoors, after it passes, make sure within about a minute or so you duck and cover away from the window and put your fingers in your ears (these are so high up you have a decent delay before the sound.)

“Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the nationalist leader noted for vehement statements, said “It’s not meteors falling, it’s the test of a new weapon by the Americans,” the RIA Novosti news agency reported.”

And muslims will blame the Jews and the American Crusaders for it. And the left in America will blame Dick Cheney and his meteor machine.
