For the first time, the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden tells his story speaking not just about the raid and the three shots that changed history, but about the personal aftermath for himself and his family. And the startling failure of the United States government to help its most experienced and skilled warriors carry on with their lives.

And now we find out that Osama bin Bama wasn’t buried at sea after all. That was another damned lie by the CIA.
Apparently the corpse was picked and now is in the oval orifice broom closet.
The big first point is he spent 16 years in the military and is wondering why he’s not getting retirement benefits.
Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
> There are too many things in this story that just “don’t come together” for me to comment at this time.
I agree. It reads like fiction. The “character” does not exhibit the personality traits of a Seal IMO...
Things that make you go HMMMMM? He knew the rules when he volunteered for military service. Why after 16 years does he want them to bend for him? We need more information before this case can be evaluated. Also, why did he “retire” after 16 years? There has got to be more to this story.
I agree...this story smells fishy.
Why don’t we open up a FreeRepublic shooting range in Texas and other Red states, see if Ted Nugent would like to become an iinvestor in it and have this hero run it. He could teach weapons safety and run other classes.
Think about it. A franchise of FreeRepublic gun ranges.
I was kind of hoping that they cremated Bin laden and put his ashes in an Urn made out of a pigs anus.
First of all, nobody, repeat nobody on any mission is ever supposed to reveal details of the mission and certainly not state that he killed OBL. This is a security breach worthy of a courts martial.
It’s not like a Navy SEAL couldn’t get a job anywhere...Blackwater, bodyguard for some Hollywood star, etc.
I trust that National Enquirer more than Esquire ...
Hannity had Phil Bronstein, the author of this article, on his show last night and asked Bronstein why the shooter didn’t just get a desk job and wait out the necessry three years to retirement. Bronstein replied that the shooter wanted more excitement than a desk job would provide but didn’t want to be in direct combat the way he was. That strikes me as rather odd. After all, the guy spent 17 years suffering and risking his life for his country, picked up a number of permanent injuries that will only get worse as he gets older, and has a family he needs to support. Under circumstances like that most men would hang in there for the rathe sulbstantial pension that would be forthcoming and serve out the rest of their time to retirement.

but of course it’s much less work to sit around and piss-and-moan about your lot in life, and hope someone gives you a handout instead of doing what is required to provide for your family...story sounds pretty fishy to me. Guess everyone is a whiner now...
Manti Teo had his fake girl friend. Michigan had their fake first down. I think Brownstein has his fake Navy Seal. This is not gonna end well for the author.
That's rather harsh... what did the pig do to you?
My thoughts too. Perhaps it is that his comments were filtered through a spineless, leftist journalist, so that has colored the tone of the article
For a SEAL, healthy, young, and just out of the unit that trained him to be always resourceful and responsible to sound like a welfare queen whining that Uncle Sam is not taking care of him, seems very odd.
