Thank God that his Lordship, the Earl of Massachusetts has exempted his loyal minions in the media from the law. Otherwise, since they couldn't provide his Lordship with the photo ops his aristocratic station requires, we peasants would never know when it was safe to return to our miserable, little lives. Any serfs caught on the road can receive a $500 fine and a year in jail...what no stocks...no flogging?

If a storm, like this, were to hit Alberta, the collectivecresponse would be, “eh, meh”

Thankfully, the great state of New York preserved the freedoms of its citizens:

Hundreds of Cars Stuck on Long Island Expressway

Police in New York say hundreds of cars have gotten stuck on the Long Island Expressway during a massive snowstorm and dozens of disabled motorists are still on the road.

Suffolk County police say cars began getting stuck Friday afternoon because weather conditions have been so bad. Authorities say vehicles are backed up and can't pass one another, and mounds of snow from plows have made it difficult for them to exit the highway.

Police say disabled motorists remain on the road early Saturday, and officers are working to get them off the road and make sure they're safe.

The Long Island Expressway and Sunrise Highway are both shut down in Suffolk County except for emergency vehicles.

Authorities say no injuries have been reported.

I really hope there are a few people left in Massachusetts with brain cells who will challenge this assclown over this “edict”.

Imagine if Rick Perry were to issue such a rule for any part of his state...or Rick Scott...or Bobby Jindal......

NEW HAMPSHIRE
State-run liquor stores were slated to close at 6 p.m. Friday to encourage people to get off the roads by 7 p.m., when the storm is supposed to intensify.

I don’t understand the media obsession with bad weather. Is it really necessary for a tv station to send some more shlub with a microphone outside in a blizzard to tell us how bad the weather is?

I guess it’s a distraction from those minor issues like Benghazi and the bad economy.

I like these threads because everybody gets to post about how manly they are because they have taken their 4x4 Ford F-150s through eight feet of snow to get a six-pack of beer in the middle of a blizzard while nosing a half-dozen or so Honda Civics into the ditch along the way.

I like those stories!

I don't have a story like that to tell for this current storm. We received about 24 inches that I just got done shoveling out of the driveway. After I came in, I had oatmeal and raisins for lunch. Breakfast was pancakes and yogurt with granola and blueberries swirled in. I will shortly be switching over to beer and pretzels but there is no football, so I guess I will have to read a book and light a fire in the fireplace.

While not wishing to give any credit to the moronic and socialist Governor of Massivestupids, this wasn't such a bad move. Not to protect people from themselves, but to get the roadways cleared.

It was being reported that the snowplows wouldn't be able to keep up with the predicted snowfall, and would lose the battle against the storm. The MassRATs tend to just abandon their stranded cars on the turnpike, so it becomes an impassible, unplowable mess.

Now they should be able to get out there and clear the clogged roadway, unfettered by bumper to bumper traffic, braindead morons, and buried cars.

Besides, if you've ever experienced a M@$$h0Le driver, you might want to see them banned from the roads yourself.
