Wait a minute: how does that make any sense at all? Kill the kid of someone you’re mad at?
I realize that they do that in places like Colombia and Kazakhstan, but even there they take that step rather deliberately. Or are you suggesting that we’ve experienced a similar cultural evolution here, in which this sort of over-the-top violence is understandable?
He says he didn't get to have a family because of them ruining his life (he knows he's going to die and never have a family), so he's killing theirs so they won't have one.
You have to step out of your mind and get in his. Taking that action makes no sense to you, but it does to him and he's the one who is exacting revenge. You don't see any reason for exacting revenge, but he does.
