No sympathy here...

No one wants your sympathy. This is about support -- if you have the guts to give any. If you care too little for the Constitution to do so, then everyone will know which side you've chosen.

Demsux is right. The U.S. Catholic bishops have been adamant supporters of government-mandated health insurance for decades.

ObamaCare without the abortion/contraception/sterilization mandate isn't much more acceptable than ObamaCare as it is now set up. There is nothing in Catholic doctrine or tradition to support the notion that "Caesar" can compel one person to pay the medical expenses of another.

The Cardinal, and American Catholics, are getting what they voted for. Now they’re whining “but this isn’t what we meant!”. I’ll support the Cardinal. After all better late than never I suppose. But he owns this mess as much as Obama.
