Giffords didn’t deliver a speech. She painstakingly repeated words whispered to her by her handler...er.. husband.

I have much doubt as to whether Gabrielle Giffords is even cognizant of what’s happening around her. She made a remarkable recovery in many ways, but it’s quite clear her brain damage is too extensive. She wasn’t even able to write the simple, monosyllabic words on that sheet she supposedly read.

For those dems to trot her out there in some macabre act of show-and-tell in pursuit of their perverted political agenda is a nasty form of exploitation, but they gleefully exploit the deaths of those Newtown school kids every day.. so it’s not surprising.

I agree with you. There is something seriously twisted in the minds of liberals, and I think it boils down (at least for the hard-core, dedicated Alinskyites) to one thing: “The ends justify the means”.

In their minds, Utopia is the end. Any action on their part, no matter how despotic, no matter how despicable, no matter how immoral, is justified in achieving that goal.

They think, that once they reach Utopia, that people will thank them for doing it. Because they always know better.

I agree she certainly did not write that speech and no doubt she would repeat anything her husband Mr Brady-—Mr. Giffords tole her to.

have they formed a non-profit yet?

You might want to be a little careful about this -- the motor skills part is not necessarily tied directly to the critical thinking part. The day after my craniotomy, where a meningioma about the size of a small lemon was removed, I could haltingly spell my first name, but I could not pronounce it. But the second day after, I could organize my thought into a sentence. On the third day after, I could speak a whole intelligent paragraph and joke with the physical therapist, and pass the test by ascending and descending a set of steps by myself. On the fourth day after, the neurosurgeon chatted with me, said he could let me go right then except for the paperwork, and the day after discharged me, with no restrictions on the discharge papers.

So, it all depends. Don't jump to conclusions about what muscle function loss demonstrates lack of intellect. In the night following the procedure, I was memorizing Scripture -- Ecclesiastes 7:16-18. Look it up. After two and a half years, I can still quote it to you, word- and punctuation-perfect.

But that does not mean that I could not yet suffer from Alzheimer's, going forward, yet retain good motor function. Ne?
