The Boy Scouts of America said Wednesday it needed "more time for a deliberate review" of its policy banning gay Scouts and leaders, delaying a final decision on the controversial membership guidelines that have dogged the private youth organization in recent years.
"In the past two weeks, Scouting has received an outpouring of feedback from the American public. It reinforces how deeply people care about Scouting and how passionate they are about the organization," the organization said in a statement. "After careful consideration and extensive dialogue within the Scouting family, along with comments from those outside the organization, the volunteer officers of the Boy Scouts of America’s National Executive Board concluded that due to the complexity of this issue, the organization needs time for a more deliberate review of its membership policy."
The executive board has directed its committees to further engage representatives of Scouting’s membership and take in their perspectives and concerns as officers work toward a resolution on membership standards. The roughly 1,400 voting members of the national council will take action on the resolution at the national meeting in May 2013, the organization said.

The fact that this is even being discussed should cause them to shed members
Who would ever have thought that the BSA would consider voting on leadership from a group of degenerates with such a hideous and obvious record of sex-offenses to openly enter such a fine organization for young boys? What a preposterous and ignorant notion.
The very fact that they are too chicken-bleep to make a complete and moral stand against faggotry in their organization speaks volumes.

yes it is! how could they consider this? do they not know who makes up their organization?
It's really a no-brainer (and it is YOUR club) so, take your time!
Well, BSA, you have to choose:
1) An organization to provide a Christian-based ethical and moral framework to support boys as they become men
2) A camping club where anything goes
If you want to continue to exist as 1) this should stay “tabled” forever.
Surely, they know that if they admit gays they’re finished?
Why are some things blatantly obvious to some but not to others?
I will take that as victory at least for a while.
They are in a lose-lose here, and I would stop donating if they changed, as much as I would hate that.
As long as they dont change I dont care how they soft soap it in public.
It means they don’t want to change the rules but are afraid of the fang-tooth raging man-hating feminazis.
Expect the uglies to attack them anyway.
