In my experience dealing with the Under 30 crowd they unfortunately see complete moral equivalence between this and the Civil Rights struggle of the 50’s and 60’s.
I’m afraid it’s a done deal once enough of us go to that great Tea Party Rally in the sky.
Probably more accurately the equivalence is seen between not allowing gay marriage, and the old anti-miscengenation laws.
One thing that is extremely similar between gay marriage and lifting interacial marriage bans is the incredibly rapid flip in public opinion.
