The polarizing debate over whether Boy Scouts of America should allow gay members could culminate with a vote on a new policy Wednesday.

But no matter which way the vote goes, activists on both sides aren't going to be satisfied.

The controversy pits leaders of religious groups that sponsor about 1 million Boy Scouts against activists who want the organization to end its ban on openly gay Scouts and Scout leaders.

Neither side is happy with BSA's proposal to let local troops decide if they want to allow gay members.

The article is so typical of liberal framing of every issue. It presents the vote as if there’s a real 50/50 split in the organization over letting homosexuals in a leaders.

A wise man one said in a meeting I attended in person:

Sin is the breaking of God's law.
Repenting of sin means being sorry you have broken God's law.
If you are sorry, it means you do not intend breaking His law any further!

You live in a society which must be regulated according to various laws.
There are federal, state, county and local laws which regulate practically every act and deed.
Whether we are speaking here of federal laws, civil codes or simply traffic laws, the same principle applies.

You are required in order to retain your freedom and your citizenship to obey the laws of our country.
If you break some of them, it may only require a fine or a very small penalty, or even a warning, and you will be allowed to remain free.

Breaking others can be far more serious.
Grand theft, larceny, arson, robbery, burglary, auto theft or murder could get you thrown behind bars
(not withstanding the terrible laxity of the courts today).

Let's suppose you have done precisely this.

Maybe, caught up in an emotional state with wrong companions, you perpetrate some act which is clearly against the law.
Let's assume you are arrested and in due time brought to trial.
But, during the trial, just as the judge has imposed upon you a terrific fine which you would never be able to pay— say, a million dollars—
a completely unknown stranger, your benefactor, stands and says,
"Your honor, I believe this man is seriously contrite.
I believe he got caught up in the emotion of the moment and was under the influence of some evil companions.
I feel he is a man of integrity and wishes truly to mend his ways and live a better life.

"Therefore, I am willing to pay his fine myself so he can go free, and he doesn't need to pay this penalty!"

Although it probably wouldn't happen in our society, it does illustrate the point.
The judge (as a type of God the Father) would say to the benefactor (who is a type of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for our own sins),

You may step up and pay the court $1 million and we will write on the court records
that the man who has been accused is free to go."

Then the judge may look at you, the person who has been arrested, tried and sentenced, and say,
"You are free to go.
But don't ever get caught up in that kind of a situation again!"

You are required, as a citizen of a free country, to obey its laws, or else

In the case of God's divine laws, you are required, whether you know about them or not (ignorance of the law is no excuse), whether you are a Christian, a professing Christian or whatever, to obey God's Ten Commandments.

Though people by the millions freely break the Ten Commandments every single day, they are unknowingly coming under the penalty of the law, which is death! (Romans 6:23).

When you repent, you are saying to God you are deeply sorry you have broken His laws.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth as the counsel for the defense says to God, the Righteous Judge, that He believes in your profession of repentance
and is willing to allow His own sacrifice to be applied in your case!

Then, just as Jesus said to the woman taken in the very act of adultery, God will say the same thing to you,
"Neither do I condemn thee; go and sin no more!"


True repentance, then, means
being deeply sorry you have broken God's Ten Commandments,
resolving through the power of God's Holy Spirit and the help of Jesus Christ as your daily High Priest and Intercessor,
not to break the Ten Commandments henceforth.

Don't fall into Satan's deception of believing that God's Laws , The Ten Commandments are done away with. /ulLord, Lord, SHALL ENTER into the kingdom of heaven;

The end of the “BOY” scouts is very near. The disease of political correctness has become terminal for them and the queers will kill a tradition that made many boys into morally straight men and successful lifestyles.

It saddens me for I was also a boy scout when I was a boy and as I look around today, there aren’t many local scout troops left around here any more. The young boys of today have become too “domesticated” and enjoy a climate controlled environment along with plenty of video games to play at home. They have no aspirations to enjoy camping trips and rustic life along with how to survive in the woods if you had to.

It’s simply a shame to even think that your son could possibly be sleeping next to a queer scout or scoutmaster. Worse yet, in many cases, I remember cases where we took baths in a river or lake without clothes and never thought a thing about it.

As a District Commissioner I can tell you that we are very nervous about this vote. Many Charter Organizations are threatening to pull out. While they would be able to set a local policy, it doesn’t really protect their youth at Summer Camp where they may be camping with Troops with gay leaders and boys. Some have said they won’t allow their youth to attend Summer Camp, which would make attaining an Eagle Rank next to impossible. The consequences at the local levels are far reaching indeed.... could be a sad day today.... and a lot of work for me, which is never a good thing!

That may happen. Was at one of the Charter Org Churches last night and one of the congregation was asking a lot about this very topic. The Scoutmaster said they could try to have a Troop-only Summer Camp but that part of the overall experience would be lost and the burden would fall heavier on the parents and leaders to provide that concentrated of a program. Someone even having an alternate camp would invite legal challenges and protests. This is just a subtly planted nuclear bomb to the BSA.

Our son, who has mild autism, is in a troop that he is very much attached to. This is HIS main form of getting out and socializing with other boys, spending time with his dad, and learning life skills and having a place to go on weekends. They VERY much DO spend a lot of time camping, on trips, learning how to survive in the outdoors, etc. To end this would end what has been one of the happier aspects of his childhood — and there aren’t many.

Oh, and I can just see MY already horridly vulnerable special needs son exposed to the eyeballing of homosexual men. What a nightmare . . .

I say — what is to stop a close knit group of fathers and sons to just organize their own trips, independently, sans fags and/or their homo fathers? This is what I could see our group doing.
