Title is misleading.

Almost 150 members of the Conservative Party refused to follow the order of David Cameron.
Reminder: in France the anti-homosexual marriage fration gained control of the UMP party (corresponds to the Conservative Party in the UK) in November.
They organized the largest demonstration of the last decades in France two weels ago.

Its not a question of "refusing orders". Like all moral or ethical questions, this was a "free vote", which means MP's voted according to their consciences rather than to a party line.

150 conservative MP's voted against it, including two ministers. Interestingly, even a few of the socialists voted against it too.
